Follow these steps to start and process a merit badge:

  1. Pick up a blank merit badge card from the Merit Badge resource box at a Troop meeting

  2.  
  3. Fill out the card completely. (an example is posted on the box)

  5. Return it to the box for the Scoutmaster's signature and counselor assignment

  7. The merit badge coordinator will get Scoutmaster approval and assign your counselor

  9. At the end of the troop meeting you will be called to pick up your card or be advised of the status

  11. You are responsible for contacting your counselor and arranging a meeting time

  13. When you have completed the merit badge requirements and your counselor has signed off that you are finished, return the card to the merit badge resource box for the final signature

  15. The complete card will be processed and turned in to the advancement chair

  17. Your badge will be prepared and awarded at an upcoming Troop meeting or Court of Honor
